Wonderful playlist! Thank you for sharing this. 🙏 I do wish I knew what the song at 35:13 was, though...sort of like if one of the serious people still present at the wee hours of the party happened to recognize that song on the unnamed cassette...
Haha you're in luck. It's "Rudens - Saucejs Sauca (Autumn - A Voice Calling)" from "Pagānu Gadagrāmata (Pagan Yearbook)" by Ugis Praulins (I think the musicians are essentially the band Iļģi). Happy to initiate your journey into pagan Baltic folk! I love this album.
Oh man... And you didn't attribute any of it... I didn't realize how 2025 I was until I felt the vague anxiety of not exactly knowing how to *sort this out*.
Please! I can't stand how delicious this continues to be. Makes me miss public radio... The sheer wildcard nature of it.
Listening to this (about a half hour in), I really am struck at how much I spend time "knowing" music and not actually listening to it. I'd say my native language as a musician myself is wonder and discovery, but... There isn't much that supports this disposition.
It's making me notice just how algorithmic playlists have become... No matter how savvy I imagine myself, I am gauvaged on sight and sound.
I knew the Internet was hollow. I did not expect to feel at once the completeness of that fact, and its lovely and hopeful opposite first thing this morning.

Make cassette sharing great again.
Haha perfect response! My pleasure, and more like this to come!

My brother, thank you! There are still gledes and shimmers and hums!
I think I just heard something about a selkie!
